Casino poker has finally arrived in Ohio, with the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland and its 30-table poker room opening up to the public last week. It's the first of four casinos that voters approved back in November of '09 and the one that will be the shortest drive for us Pittsburgh folk looking to expand our poker horizons. I've never seen the Indians play at the Jake (or whatever the hell it's called now), so I'm thinking a poker/baseball trip may be in my not-too-distant future.
In the meantime, Matt Tagliaferri of Holdem Notebook has already posted a Horseshoe trip report that you can check out. And there are a series of articles and galleries up at the Plain Dealer's casino-news feed at Cleveland.com, including some coverage of the Hollywood Casino in Toledo, which will open May 29. There's also, of course, a healthy thread at the 2+2 forums for discussing the Cleveland poker room.
Good luck at the tables, Ohio peeps.

So there's FINALLY a reason to go to Cleveland now, huh? heh heh.
How long a drive is that gonna be for you, as compared to the rooms you play now?
Haven't had a chance to read thru the posts you've linked, but my gut tells me that going to a new casino in a new area where they haven't exised before would lead to some pretty weak oppenents coming out to try their luck. True?
Cleveland is a bit of a jaunt from here -- two to two-and-a-half hours. So hitting it up is certainly not going to be a regular occurrence. (The two local Pittsburgh casinos are only 15-20 minutes away from my house.)
Still, it's close enough that I'd like to take a drive over, check out the room and add another poker chip to my collection. Next few months are busy for me, but perhaps in August or September.
And, yes, I've now been around for both the West Virginia and Pennsylvania table-game launches, and the amount of easy money that wanders into a new poker room during the first few months is staggering.
